  • Helpful Hybrid Learning Tools

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

I wanted to send you a sincere thank you for your contribution to my project "Helpful Hybrid Learning Tools". The 2020-2021 school year looks very different than years past, but your donation helped go to supplies that made the transition to remote learning a smooth one.

Back in September, my instructional assistant and I put together backpacks with the supplies and were able to deliver them to our students. Each child was so excited to get their own set of personalized supplies and it helped make sure they were prepared for the first day of remote learning. One of the supplies that have been a total lifesaver are the white boards and dry erase markers. We use it for all subjects and it helps get a quick assessment of understanding. The paper and crayons have also been helpful not only for our classes, but the specialist classes as well.

Thank you again for your generosity! My class and I appreciate you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. DiSipio

  • Kindergarten Super Supplies!

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

Thank you for your contributions to our project "Kindergarten Super Supplies!". They have made a tremendous difference in a short amount of time. My students were very excited to see what was in each box when we got our special delivery.

One of the things they were most excited about was having brand new crayons! They were able to make beautiful Christmas cards for their families and have used them for various language arts and math projects. They also love having an assigned carpet square number during morning meetings and it has helped students with number recognition. I have also seen improvement in sight word identification with the help of our new flash cards.

Once again thank you for your support! These supplies will continue to help my students for years to come!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. DiSipio

  • Kindergarten Kindle Fires Are Hot, Hot, Hot!

    Funded Nov 28, 2018

Thank you for your incredibly generous donations to my class project. The Kindles have been a great addition to the language arts and math centers that are run daily in my classroom. I love to see my students faces light up in excitement when it is their day in the Kindle center.

There are a number of language arts and math apps that are aligned to the skills we are learning in each subject. They are helpful in reviewing what is currently being taught, and reviewing skills that we have already covered. This new technology keeps the students engaged and I have seen growth across all levels. I have also seen just how careful and responsible the students can be with the Kindles. It has helped them with following the class rule "respect school and personal property". We want to make sure that we take care of these Kindles so future classes can benefit from all they have to offer.

I look forward to continuing to monitor how these Kindles help my students achieve their Kindergarten goals and beyond. Thank you again for making this possible!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. DiSipio

I work in an urban district that has limited technology resources. As each year passes, more and more technology is developed to help students build fluency in language arts, math, and other subject areas. Unfortunately, my classroom lacks the resources to benefit from these improvements. I have not had working computers since 2014 and the students do not necessarily have the resources at home. I feel that with the addition of Kindle Fires my students will have the opportunity to build their reading skills and addition/subtraction fluency in a way that will keep them engaged. It will also help master the skills they need in preparation for first grade.
