  • Safe Space for Big Feelings!

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

On behalf of the children in my class, I want to extend our deepest gratitude for your generosity. Your support created a nurturing area for our "safe space for big feelings" for our young learners.

My students were thrilled to see the new furnishing and materials. The space created a soothing atmosphere where children can reflect, retreat to relax, and regulate their emotions.

I see the ongoing success of this space daily. The calming inviting space helps the children cope with overstimulation, especially for a student of mine with Autism. The next step for this space would be sharing pictures/video clips with family members when children choose this space rather than unwanted behavior.

The success of this project would not have been possible without your commitment to supporting social-emotional learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Balazon

  • Healthy Day

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

I am beyond grateful with our mini refrigerator in the classroom for the children to enjoy. When my students saw the refrigerator for the first time they were amazed with the size. Majority verbalized that they never saw a mini fridge before. First lesson we discussed was safety precautions with electrical and outlets. The children takes turn in helping to get snacks from the fridge or putting back any leftovers back to the fridge. My students learned to be patient to become "snack helper" and it continue to help them to choose healthy snack.

Once again thank you for your generosity.”

  • Future Engineers

    Funded Feb 10, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation! Your donation helps my scholars to be more creative, problem solver, and builder.

Through the help of your generous donation, my students were able to work together in building different structures. When I introduced the materials and student saw the manipulatives their faces was glowing with excitement. The new materials that was added to our STEM is making my students be more inventive.

Once again, thank you for your generosity. Without your help, my students would not have had a great experience in building.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Balazon

  • Flexible Seating

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

It is with thankful heart and gratitude that I submit this impact letter to you for your kindness and willing to give toward "Flexible Seating"! With the flexible seating, my students were able to enjoy different areas in the classroom with comfort and independence. My students gained access to flexibility and joy in self or group directed activities.

Again, thank you for your donation. Our children's faces light up when I introduced the seats. They love the fact that they can move it around the classroom.”

  • Hands-on MATH

    Funded May 4, 2021

Thank you for your generous support. Through your donation we have been able to use our counters to support many mathematical activities. Our students love the varieties of the counters and use it to extend their learning. One student was able to create a color pattern and the rest of the group followed along which turned into a teachable moment. Through this materials students are counting, making and extending patterns, classifying and sorting.

    Your support is extremely appreciated.

Again, thank you and you are part of their learning.”

  • Let's Have Fun with Playdough

    Funded Dec 28, 2020

Thank you so much for your support in getting this playdough into the hands of my students! They were jumping up and down with excitement when they picked up the playdough. Now that they have playdough at home, they have been using it for many purposes.

My students are using playdough daily to form letters, numbers, and shapes. The bonus feature of scented playdough helped my students with language and storytelling as well.

Your generosity has made the remote learning experience fun and hands-on. Thank you again for supporting this project.”

  • Culturally Responsive Classroom Library

    Funded Aug 12, 2020

Our scholars are enjoying our new culturally responsive book collection.

We are using the texts to build connections with students and families. Getting to know students, families, and communities helps me be responsive in a way that authentically represents my students.

I have been using the books to read to my students virtually as well. I give prompts such as "How do you feel if...," and Can you tell me more about it." Asking these questions while using culturally responsive texts help foster conversations with students ethnic differences, roles, and expressions.

Thank you for your generosity in helping me build culturally responsive library.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Balazon

With a large carpet in our classroom students will have more space to freely move around. They will have comfortable seating while having conversation. Reading rug will provide cozy spot for students and brighten the area with colorful rug. Soft carpet is also better in the winter because they won’t have to sit on the cold floor. The colorful rug will also make the room more inviting for children and parents. The rug will also help them learn their letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. Children will also learn positions words when children are being seated. This will also help with turn and talk.
