My 1st grade classroom is full of a diverse group of enthusiastic students. Our school is classified as a Title 1 school where 80% of the students are economically disadvantaged and 96% are considered "at risk". Regardless of these challenges, the students show up every day eager to learn. Our students should not be deprived the same opportunities as kids in surrounding towns just because the city has fewer financial resources, but this is the situation in which we often find ourselves as educators. The Donors Choose website offers teachers a chance to expand our resources and acquire materials we can use to enhance the learning of our students. Both my students and I are grateful for any donations and promise that your donations will be put to good use.
