Classroom Reading Make Over

Thank you so very much for the reading classroom makeover donations! With your donations, we were able to completely makeover the classroom to make it inviting for Kindergartners and create a love for reading. They have all made tremendous growth in reading this quarter! Your donations have helped and supported me as an educator as well.

We have created a special library area where students can go and enjoy a new book. The round bookshelf, special reading chairs, and bench have been the hit of the classroom! They get excited to sit in a special seat and enjoy a book of their choice.

With your donations we also purchased a ton of leveled reader books and reading games. We use these every single day at our classroom tables, reading groups, and center rotations. The games have been a hit and the best part of all is that they are fun learning games to help them with their reading! These have also been helpful for parent volunteers who come in to help students, because they can use these to help students practice their sight words, sounding out words, finding the beginning sound, etc...

Lastly, the ABC rug where each student has a place to sit has made our room look and feel more like the other Kindergarten classrooms! The easel for modeled reading and writing has been so incredibly helpful for teaching while students are listening on the rug. We are so very thankful!
