The Physical Science class at CCHS would like to work as unit teams, consisting of six members on each team, to address the real-world problem of vaping in our schools. They will obtain college ready skills through brainstorming, research, reverse engineering, construction, testing, and evaluation of the design process by developing a prototype device that detects for the presence of one of the two most common components that deliver e-cigarette vapor: propylene glycol or glycerin. The device will detect traces of one or both of these main components on students hand or breathe, therefore allowing students to get help for their addiction and reduce vaping within the school.
