Funded Nov 29, 2022Thank you SO much for your generous donations! One of the biggest outcomes of this project has been that the kids have rediscovered their love of making their own stickers! We have had some difficulty with our school water fountains and many students bring their own reusable water bottles. They've loved creating their own name tags/stickers with the Cricut vinyl and making these bottles their own! We have been working on SEL bulletin boards and displaying the amazing materials the students have been making in class and in counseling sessions. Most of all, the students love the ability to create and cut their own designs, fostering independence and strong self esteem!
Thank you again!!”

Funded May 3, 2022Thank you SO much for such a generous donation! The fifth graders who helped me write up this project were ELATED! We worked on skills related to self advocacy and writing to create this project from the ground up. Through our Minecraft Club with varying grades, students are working on the CASEL aligned skills of self management, self awareness, and relationship skills. With my younger students, we are working on executive functioning skills related to starting and stopping activities on the ipad or other technology (a need parents continually tell us about!) We are so excited to be able to offer our students this unique experience and can't wait to see where these ipads take us this year!
Thanks so much!”

Funded Jan 14, 2022I have loved sharing my love of fiber arts with my students! Kids of all ages LOVED the sewing kits. Our younger students were able to work on their hand eye coordination while older students worked hard at creating pillows/gifts for their family members. Many hats were made throughout the winter for students and their friends and family. The knitting machines were also used to make many doll blankets and even a tube to hold a new puppy! Several students have shown continued interest in knitting/crocheting and are working on starting a club where we can knit/crochet and talk about coping skills. We are so grateful for your generous donations and hope to continue playing with fiber arts for the months and years to come.”

Squirmy Supports!
Funded Jan 10, 2022What a year for fidgets! My students are wowed at the amount of supports we've been able to provide with your donations. The wobble chair is a hit in my office, I may need to request more to avoid fighting over it! The various hand fidgets are constantly used and taken, and have been especially helpful during state testing season to help combat anxiety and frustration. The clay has been a favorite as well, and my students love taking the white clay and seeing what colors they can turn it with markers and paint before it dries. The clay has served multiple purposes, both molding toys to play with later, as well as adding to balloons to create makeshift stress balls. We really appreciate all of your generous donations to help make our school a more comfortable, comforting place!”

Funded Sep 23, 2021Wow, thank you so much for all of your generous donations! The counseling suite's bathroom has become essential, and as word of mouth spreads, more and more students know that they can come here for a safe, clean, and non judgmental place to clean up and get back to learning. The expression of relief on our students' faces when they realize we have a huge array of supplies is priceless. Being able to put our school provided period products alongside the rest of the supplies in the container drawers has also been so helpful, as students who have periods are able to take what they need without having to track down an adult to ask. This also allows all of our supplies to be in the same place, reducing the need for students to spend time tracking them down.
Thank you again for all of your support!”

Funded Jul 26, 2021Wow, what a start to the year! We are so excited to be back with our students despite challenges from the ongoing global pandemic.
The materials from this project have proven essential as we've started the year. New print colors and Cricut materials have made our doors, bulletin boards, and announcements colorful and easy to read for all. We strive to create a welcoming environment and this is certainly helping! The Cricut vinyl has been especially helpful, as we've cut down on sharing physical materials and students have individual tools to use through the day. The vinyl helps to label these materials so students don't mix them up or lose them as easily! Thank you for making the start to the school year more colorful for all!”

Technology to Stay Safe!
Funded Jan 21, 2021Wow, thank you so much for your generous gift! The ipad has truly been a gift in my office, even more than I could have imagined. We've found special apps and videos that have been used to promote mindfulness and have improved coping/relaxation skills for the students (and for me!) The students are able to use the ipad to show me their own work - this includes the amazing videos they've created, vulnerable personal narratives they've written for class, and online achievements they've accomplished. I especially love seeing their excitement when they can teach me about something they've learned online, whether it's an e-book they really love, or a world they've singlehandedly created in a video game. Because of your generous donation, we're able to do this in person in my office while staying six feet apart!
Thank you again,

Virtual Play Therapy!
Funded May 20, 2020I am filled with gratitude over your generous gift that allowed my remote time with my students to run more smoothly. Starting telehealth, we were given very little resources or information on how to conduct play therapy and a lot of it was making it up as we went along. I am grateful for your generous donations that allowed me to provide my students with journals and colored pencils to pick up and use at home. The dice and
situation cards provided rich conversations with even my youngest students. And to my surprise, the biggest hit was the feelings doll. Even through a screen, my students got so excited to dictate where I should move the various facial features, and were able to identify feelings based on where I moved them around in a fun and interactive way.
Thank you so much!!”

Funded Jan 24, 2019Thank you SO much for the amazing fidgets! I was able to provide my students with tools for them to use in both our sessions and in the classroom. Several of my students used items (namely the infinity cubes and fidget cubes) as transition objects that helped them to return to class calmly and quietly from our sessions, and helped them to remain calm during times of anger, frustration, or sadness. The students were SO excited when they saw all of the amazing fidgets that arrived - they especially loved how squishy and slime-like the stress balls were, and thanks to your generosity so many different students were able to take advantage of these. I'm so excited to see how differently each student has been using these as coping skills for different frustrations and anxieties - I'm especially grateful that they're able to use them as strong feelings come up around transition to the next grade, or graduation from our school.
Thank you so so much for supporting our students' mental health!”
