  • Protect Our iPads

    Funded Dec 20, 2024

Thank you for making our class iPads accessible. Before your help, our devices had to stay on the shelf, only to be used to demonstrate by adults in order to protect them. Now, students get the iPads independently to access Art resources, take photos of their artworks, and access calming nature videos. Now even when there are accidental drops our iPads are still in tact and working well.

We so appreciate your investment in the education and enjoyment of these deserving students. We know your time and money are valuable and we have benefited by your generosity.

    Peace!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. N.

  • Protect Our iPads

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

Thank you for providing the resources that my little artists needed to make use of our class iPads. These iPads are now put to use very day because they can be handled safely. Without these extra safe protective covers with stands, it was too risky to distribute and use the slippery devices with our tiny hands.

Now, students can independently access art class online resources, take photos of their completed artworks, submit artwork, and even use the camera as a mirror for self-portraits. They even have access to a site that has calming resources, because its just nice to have when we need it.

We are so appreciative of your donation that made these valuable tools accessible.

Thank you for your positive impact on our artists.”

  • Reading and Playing to Celebrate Diversity Part 2

    Funded Feb 3, 2023

Thank you so very much for providing these resources for my students. I am so pleased when I get to observe them using skin color as a descriptor (light, dark, reddish, etc) without any hint of judgement. Some have even described the family cards as, "the one with 2 dads" or "the one with a dark brown girl and a light dad." Because they can describe these differences without judgement, it normalizes the conversations and brings us closer to an equitable culture.

The additional stories, Sulwe and My Name is a Song, make our library more inclusive and representative of who they are.

We are so appreciative of your gifts. Thank you again for thinking of us.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. N.

  • Reading and Playing to Celebrate Diversity

    Funded Jan 17, 2023

My kinders and first graders just love the Family Builder Blocks. They use the Family Cards to build the sample families. Then, they independently build families of their own choice. Their conversations about skin and hair color to make a match, recognizes that we really do see color and they can normalize saying it.

I love hearing their conversations about families with two Dads or families with an abuela (grandmother).

Students have read the books together and enjoyed them, especially the Spanish version of Like Me. That one is a regular read.

I am slowly peeking at chapters in my How to Raise and Anti Racist book. I look forward to having the time to focus on that over the summer break.

Thank you for your generosity. The students and I are so fortunate for your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. N.

  • Molding Minds With Clay

    Funded Jul 15, 2021

Your donation has provided us the ink we needed to print color copies of artwork and classroom materials. We have even printed student art to use in our Social Emotional Learning and Calming Center. That has been a helpful addition to our needed stress relief.

Our clay was used for a project to make Hispanic Heritage Month artworks. We had a very impressive sculpture of Frida Kahlo done by a student. And, while all projects were not masterpieces. Having the opportunity to squeeze and mold the clay, and even smash it and start over, was a nice tactile experience.

We thank you for your generosity and willingness to help use with our learning and development.”

  • Organized for Independence

    Funded May 29, 2020

It was so great of you to help us get our Art classroom organized. These shelving units on wheels made distributing and collecting materials much more efficient giving us more time for creating masterpieces. Thanks to you, boxes of art supplies are now off the floor, out of boxes, and more accessible to the students. Since the shelving units are on wheels, I or the students can move the supply shelf to a convenient spot in the classroom when we need access or back to the closet when we do not. My students are learning to increase their independence and confidence.

    Thank you so very much!”

  • Getting to Know the World's Greatest Artists

    Funded Mar 5, 2020

Thank you to the wonderful donors for providing these biographies of many great artists. My students get to read about the lives of the artists and get to see images of some their most impressive artworks You helped create this full Art library of reading options for my students.

We were able to jump off the school year with the Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera as we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month. It was especially nice sharing with my students that your kindness made this possible for them

    Thank you so very much.”

  • Basic Supplies for Creating

    Funded Jan 13, 2020

Thank you very much for the dry erase markers and color printer ink cartridges. My students were so glad that they could print vocabulary cards in full color. We even found some neat Great Artist Posters that we printed for the classroom.

The dry erase markers provide us a way to practice a drawing or sketch a layout of a poster in an easily editable way. After learning that the clicking sound from opening and closing the marker tip can be disruptive, we learned that closing it each time should be better than putting on a cap. Caps sometimes get lost or to put on tightly. We really hope these markers last a long time.

My students are so happy to have the color ink and markers. They are especially happy to know that wonderful people like you care about them.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. N.
