  • Student Notebooks and a Sharpener

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you for donating to our class project. Students have been using their primary notebooks to practice handwriting, as well as practice writing their letters and sight words. They also love drawing in the blank spaces and writing about their drawing. The primary lined notebooks were exactly what my students needed to become better writers. Students also love using their new pencil sharpener. They don't have to wait for us to give them a new pencil. Sharpening their own pencil is one way our students prepare themselves for the day's learning.

Thank you again for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kim

  • Seat Sacks & Cushions!

    Funded Sep 22, 2021

Thank you for your generous contribution to our Donors Choose Project. Our classroom received seat cushions and individual seat sacks. My students love sitting on the seat cushions to learn comfortably in small groups and on their own. The seat sacks have made a huge difference as they help students learn to be responsible and keep their belongings organized. Students love having their own space to place their folders, notebooks and boards in.

Thank you again for your generous donation to our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kim

  • Engaged Readers

    Funded Aug 22, 2019

Thank you for your generous contribution to my classroom. My students are very excited to have new books to read. These books have added to the choices my students have when selecting books to read. They can't seem to keep their hands off the books you have helped provide us with. The Goosebumps series have been a hit with my reluctant readers! In addition, having multiple copies of the same texts encourage my students to hold book talks with each other. Thank you again for your generous donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kim

My goal is to instill a love of reading in my students and to help them become lifelong readers. I would like to spark my students' interest and enthusiasm about reading. I would like to see my students pick out good books, read, and have discussions about them. To do this, I need to be able to provide my students with a classroom library full of engaging books. Literacy consultant and author, Jennifer Serravallo, stated, "Without engagement, you've got nothing." The books I am looking to add to my library will help ignite the love of reading in my students.
