Providing a Collaborative Working Environment for Future Leaders
Funded Dec 4, 2019We received our new tables after break. My students were immediately excited! The tables fit in the classroom even better than expected. Everyone wanted to sit at them and give them a try.
So far, I have noticed the largest impact of the tables during our nonfiction book clubs. Students can just get started right away with discussion because they are all facing each there is no need to move furniture or speak loudly for others to hear.
We are also loving the marker tops! Students are able to quickly use them to help with work on math and to visualize more complicated science concepts.
My classroom now has space to move around, yet the student have a comfortable work area. Thank you so much for the wonderful opportunities you have given my students to work together and collaborate with one another.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Allen

Funded Nov 2, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donations. My kids were so excited when our box came (ahead of schedule and right before Thanksgiving break). When they opened the box I heard yelps of excitement. One of my students said she had been waiting to read one of the Warriors books we got for over a year.
Since the start of the school year my big push is to create a stamina for reading. Sadly, many students come into sixth grade never reading a whole book by themselves. Many of the books we got are graphic novels, they look like comic books, however they contain all the elements of novels. Students can feel success as they finish books and are able to take part in our discussions of book elements.
My students were especially excited about the series books! We were able to get The Warriors series, Percy Jackson series, Bones series, and Big Nate. All of these series are high interest. I love hearing kids talk about series and discuss what his happening in their book with someone who is also reading that series. This is instilling a passion for reading for my young wild readers!
Thank you again for giving my students books that they love to read!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Allen
