A"MAZE"ing Hands-On Skills

Funded Oct 14, 2019

We are beyond ecstatic that you donated to our classroom project. My students were so excited to open the magnetic mazes. They were amazed at the bright colors on the boards and were eager to get their hands on them. They helped open the boxes so it was as if they were opening gifts!

They took them out of the boxes and sat on the carpet. The students were so surprised that they were able to move the pieces of the maze with a "magic" wand. To see the concentration on their little faces was more than I ever could have expected. We worked first with our dominant hand then later we tried our non-dominant hand. They really struggled with that. It gave them a glimpse in what it would feel like to need the use of your non-dominant hand.

Our next step is to focus on getting objects into the correct spaces, whether the maze is dealing with color or shape. They have stated that they can't wait to get their hands on the mazes again!

Once again I send my heartfelt thanks to you! You have made an impact on so many little lives!”

With gratitude,
