My classroom currently has a classroom set of Chromebooks but we do not have a place to properly charge and store them. This makes using these wonderful tools very challenging. For now we store our Chromebooks in a wooden box and the cords from the chargers just sit in a tangled pile on the floor. Often students are not able to find their charger as it has fallen in to the pile of cords and is seemingly lost forever. It takes a great deal of effort and time to find the end of the charger and plug it into the correct Chromebook. Basically, our Chromebook situation is a mess and we feel our Chromebooks do so much for us, that they deserve a nice, tidy, new home. Because we do not have very many books for guided reading school wide, it is difficult to have successful and meaningful guided reading experiences. New books for guided reading, , like Frindle and Stone Fox, would greatly increase my students' skills and confidence in reading! As of now, I have to purchase guided reading books for my students with my own money. My goal is to create a book closet in our school that will not only benefit my 3rd graders, but will also benefit all the grades in the school. This would be a great resource for teachers as they would be able to find books at their students levels and then create or use already created, meaningful lessons to intentionally improve a skill or need their students have.
