Thank you so much for donating to our project! Your generosity has allowed my students to achieve their goal of helping those in need around the world.
Your donation allowed us to purchase 15 UNICEF Power Bands. Since using them, our students have taken over 3,000,000 steps. Those steps have turned into points and RUTFs. UNICEF matches those points with packets of RUTFs or Ready to Use Therapeutic Food to help children threatened by severe malnutrition. So far our students have provided 121 packets of food! When I explained to students that a packet can help provide food for 6 to 8 weeks, they felt even more motivated to keep moving and earning points. Being able to use the Power Bands has enabled students to make a difference.
This project will always be memorable for my students. We teach them to practice acts of kindness and they have seen it first hand beginning with your donation. In the words of my students, "gracias, arigatou, danke, xie xie and spasibo."”

This classroom project was brought to life by US Fund for UNICEF and 12 other donors.

Recently my students participated in a STEM competition where the topic was the future of farming. They learned about the different ways that food will be produced in the future. They also learned about the challenge of providing adequate food to a growing world population and that a large number of people currently do not get enough food to lead a healthy and active life. My students immediately asked what they could do to help others. After researching on the UNICEF website, we learned about the Power Bands. Once they are synced with an app, they track daily activity which earns them points. As students earn points, they unlock funding UNICEF uses to deliver lifesaving packets of therapeutic food to severely malnourished children around the world. The Power Bands would allow my students to help others while being active.
