With these materials, I intend for my students to feel excited about creating with their hands but also to feel free to share stories about themselves. I intend to record them, through video, talking about their family traditions as they piece together their ornaments. I want them to feel empowered to express themselves verbally and creatively as we experiment with which materials work best on their ornament. They will be able to use their own picture to capture this moment in time for posterity but we will also have the video recording to watch together as the year progresses to the end.
