  • Look Good, Smell Better, Performance Ready!

    Funded Sep 15, 2024

Our dancers are so excited to have easily accessible hygiene products. They are always coming over to the self-care cart at the beginning or end of the class, or while getting ready for a performance to grab an extra hair tie, some gel, a pad or tampon, or a body wipe and lotion.

You have enabled them to look and feel their best while learning about the ways in which their bodies move and providing a space for them to feel comfortable exploring new movement and performance ideas and practices.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Vennie Wofford

This classroom project was brought to life by The Peterson Family and 2 other donors.
  • Rock the Block

    Funded Aug 19, 2024

I can't even begin to explain how grateful I am for your donation to our program. Since receiving our portable speaker system our dancers have been able to perform at many outdoor events including our school's homecoming pep rally, community parade and tailgate. Even this week we will use the speaker to rehearse outdoors before our Fall Festival performance. This has enabled our dancers to approach performances with confidence and the reassurance that their music will play and be heard at all of our community events.

You have truly made dance and learning a much more engaging and confidence building space.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Vennie Wofford

This classroom project was brought to life by Michael Jordan and The Jordan Brand and 2 other donors.
  • Train Like a Yoga Master

    Funded Nov 14, 2023

Your generous gift to our classroom has allowed our dancers to train in yoga and somatic practices. Doing such has increased their overall flexibility and confidence on the dance floor. My students have discovered new ways to move their body, and been able to investigate which muscles, bones and ligaments are responsible for that movement. They have also learned safe was in which to strengthen and stretch those body parts. Surpassing what they thought their body was capable of and finding new strength in themselves and their abilities. We would not have been able to do it without you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Vennie Wofford

  • Learning in Leggings

    Funded Sep 12, 2023

Thank you so much for your kind and generous donation. Now my students have qualities leggings to move and learn in. As you know, the majority of our students come from low income households and receive free breakfast and lunch. Investing in materials for dance class is not something many of these students can afford to make a priority. You have given them the ability to grow their confidence both as dancers and in their bodies. The impact of this gift will enable them to have comfortable clothing to move and explore in.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Vennie Wofford

This classroom project was brought to life by Mission Tiger and 2 other donors.
  • Bonanza HS Digital Dance Makers

    Funded Nov 22, 2021

Your generous donation has helped our students be able to make their digital dance dreams become a reality. My students used the tripods and cameras weekly to record their own technique quizzes and to create full length dance films. These dance films have been submitted and earned awards in the Clark County School District dance festival. As well as high praise from administrators and parents. We can not thank you enough for funding our classroom and our dance film making dreams. You truly have made a world of difference.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Vennie Wofford

Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic performing artists around the world have had to learn how to create, produce and share their work digitally. As a high school dance program we have also experienced the same learning curve. Some of the most important Core Arts standards for Dance in Nevada are Create, Perform and Respond. This means that we must teach our students how to do so both in person and digitally, as we shift back and forth from virtual to in person learning. These supplies will help our students will help our students create work, which they then can perform on camera; and those projects both while in production and upon completion can be used to help to students learn to respond to dance in multiple formats.
