  • Game On!

    Funded Dec 20, 2021

The new athletic equipment allowed all students who had an interest to participate in sports. This donation of equipment broke barriers that students had regarding shoes and uniforms. When students first saw the new uniforms, shows and athletic equipment they were excited to compete and felt a part of the league. The students' self-confidence was greatly positively impacted by having all the resources they needed to compete. All teams have been very successful. The next steps are to expand our sports offering and add tennis and swimming for students to compete.

Athletics has been an integral part of building our school community and connecting students to their peers outside of the classroom. We have seen a positive impact on student athletes attendance, promotion, and graduation rates.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Coble

  • SCHOOL IS POPPIN!

    Funded Oct 30, 2018

The donation of the popcorn and machine provided an incentive for students to stay until their last class. Before this incentive students would often leave early, and this caused a significant number of students to be truant. For the past couple of years that we have provided this incentive we have seen a steady growth in the number of students who stay until the end of class. Students now look forward to that snack at the end of the day and many commented on how this was the best part of their day. The students were so excited when we began this incentive, and this led to students vocalizing other needs. Our last two periods of the day saw greater student engagement and attendance. Thank you for your support. We are building on the popcorn incentive by offering other incentives for students to stay until the end of school for SY 23-24.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Coble

  • Hello Winter!

    Funded Dec 3, 2021

Thank you so much for helping my students to have a warm and comfortable commute to and from school. Having the proper attire makes attending school that much easier! As the Winter months come, having new hats and gloves along with the other support we provide will ensure that are students attend and graduate/promote this school year.”

  • Hands Down

    Funded Feb 2, 2019

I have the amazing job of greeting every student when they come in our school building. From hunger to clothing, I see those students who are in need, even when they are too proud to ask. Many of our students also have to take a train, bus and walk a 1/2 mile to get to school. The long commute can be stressful even in the best conditions, but without nourishment or the proper clothing it can deter students from even attempting to come to school.

In January 2019, our area began experiencing very cold weather. Students , who often had long commutes, came to the building in very thin jackets and with no hats and gloves. I noticed red hands that could barely move because of the cold. It was this need that inspired me to reach out to donors for gloves.

Thanks to your generosity I was able to provide over 35 students with high quality gloves. Students were so excited to receive the gloves , many remarked how they did not have gloves and that the gloves would make a big difference in the cold! As a result of the donated gloves students who may have stayed home in extreme weather came to school.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Coble

Help me provide students with an incentive to stay until the last bell rings! With less than 30% of students staying for the last period of the day, RSTAY is in need of incentives to keep students in school through the last period of the day. With the smell of yummy popcorn filling the air, all students who stay through the last period of the day, 8th period, will receive freshly made popcorn at least twice a month. The popcorn incentive will be combined/rotated with other 8th period incentives like sundae bars, hot cocoa and more! No more cutting class for an early start to after school fun, students will be inclined to stay through 8th so they can partake in freshly made treats.
