Rooted in Reading Final Phase!
Funded Apr 26, 2024This is the final phase of the Rooted in Reading projects. I am so happy that I now have all the materials I need to fully implement this program into my classroom. My 1st grade colleagues, and I are going to jump right into this full swing very soon during the upcoming school year. I couldn't have done it without your support. Thank you for caring enough about the education of students within our great nation! The books are great, the curriculum is engaging, and I am ready for a great 2024-2025 school year. I tried out some of the lessons at the end of the school year last year, and my students and I both loved them.
Thanks!”

Funded Apr 13, 2024WOW! I can't thank you all enough for your support for my classroom and kids. We implemented some of the lessons at the end of the school year in 2023-2024. I am impressed with the writing portion of the curriculum. It ties in with the focus book and makes writing fun for the kids. They really seemed to like the writing.
I am excited to start the new school year off with amazing books for my students. There are so many great stories with a wide range of genres! I love that the months are themed and flow well together.
Thanks again for making this dream a reality for myself and my students.!”

Funded Feb 10, 2024Thanks so much for your donation. I am excited for this new program. It will allow my student to enhance their learning using hands on activities.
The activities and lessons focus on skills, which include phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, reading and listening comprehension, and fluency. These skills correlate with the Science of Reading and will help student become strong readers.
I can't say how much I appreciate your help with this project. Thank you for your contribution and for supporting my classroom and Winslow Elementary School.”

Organization? Yes, Please!
Funded May 2, 2023Thank you so much for your generous donations. We are at the end of our school year, but the students are excited about the new organizational tool. They are going to help me get ready for next year by making sure all of our classroom manipulatives are organized neatly into the Chairback Buddies.
We are trashing our boxes and getting organized! Everything fits into the Chairback Buddies perfectly. There is a place for everything including; clipboards, chromebooks, letter tiles, 2-sided color counters, dry erase boards, sentence strips, and more. Having everything in one spot is going to help declutter our classroom, especially the floor and the inside of their desks.”

Let's Get Reading
Funded Nov 7, 2019What a great tool this has already been in our classroom. The kids love to show me their work and they are proud when their work matches the picture. They love that they can self-check their work. I am pumped that my high ability kids can do the assigned task, but then choose additional material that they are interested in learning. This gives them more freedom of choices and they are not so bored during center time.
The Versa Tiles program is amazing! I am trying to get other teacher on board with the program as well, and I am very interested in the math version.
We couldn't have such amazing learning tools in our classroom without your support! Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!”

Funded Feb 28, 2019Wow! We are all loving the new Classroom Connection table. The kids are having so much fun spending a little bit of one-on-one time with me at the end of each day. They check the schedule and count down the days until it is their turn. I am getting to know each of my students even more. The kids are so creative. Some students just want to chat, but others like to create things or play the I-Pad together.
Getting to know my students even more has helped me to adapt to challenging situations that arise in the classroom and help students academically as well. I can help my students brainstorm ideas for writing projects or help them choose AR books they would enjoy reading.
It is amazing to hear them talk to other first graders in our school about our Classroom Connection table. They get so excited while they explain how and why we using the table. I am encouraged by our time together and can't wait to implement the Classroom Connection time at the beginning of next school year. I feel the table will really impact my new relationships with the incoming 1st graders.”

Funded Nov 27, 2018What an amazing table. My student teacher and I were so excited when it arrived. We stayed after school and put it together. We decorated the table with all of our kids' names. They were so excited the next day!! We have been using the table each and every day during math and reading centers along with intervention time. They kids love to stand at the table and work. I have had so many compliments about how awesome the table is from other teachers and staff.
We are so blessed to have the table and for it to be incorporated into our classroom. It gives us so many ways to help students in a new and fun way.
I will be posting another project soon. I would like to add another area in the room where I can make connections with my students. This will be an area where I can sit down and just chat to one student each day. Having those solid relationships with my students is important for growth and learning. Thanks again for a wonderful addition to our room!! I hope you take a look at the pictures. The kids are truly learning and having fun!!”
