  • Let Us Be Heard

    Funded Mar 9, 2020

We would like to start by saying thank you for your immense contribution to our drama program, we are grateful beyond words for your kindness. As a program, we have had very little to no access to proper resources and that has made what should be simple enough tasks rather difficult. In order to conduct our performances as successfully as possible, we need microphones for the children to be heard. We have a beautiful 800 seat auditorium and not a single microphone. Before your donation, we have had a constant complains from audience members stating they cant hear our actors pass the third row of seats. These circumstances have lead us to appreciate your donation all the more, as we are now HEARD!

Last year, we were able to use your donation in order to assist us being heard for our play "Blue Butterfly" as well as our previous production of "Disenchanted", and our middle school collaboration "Disney Show". This microphone has made our performance a success! By donating to our class, you've ensured that we will always have a reliable source of sound at our disposable to not only use for Carrie, but for a multitude of performances in the future.

So thank you for giving us a sense of security in that we will always be heard during our shows creating a both believable and successful performance for many years to come.

Sincerely, Mrs. Blanco, Troupe 6692, and all the Drama students at RMEC!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Blanco

We would like to start by saying thank you for your immense contribution to our drama program, we are grateful beyond words for your kindness. As a program, we have had very little to no access to proper resources and that has made what should be simple enough tasks rather difficult. In order to conduct our performances as successfully as possible, we need proper internet access and computers for a plethora of activities, such as downloading sound cues and songs and accessing lyrics and scripts. Before your donation, we had to rely on students and parents to accomplish these tasks and there comes a point where there is only so much that these individuals can do. These circumstances have lead us to appreciate your donation all the more, as we are now able to do tasks that we never imagined we'd be able to do this easily. The iPad you donated has allowed us to conduct both performances and rehearsals smoother than we ever could have before.

Most recently, we've been able to use your donation in order to assist us in our One Acts competition, IE competition, and several shows for sound and research. The IPAD added a sense of depth and believability to our performances and competitions. By donating to our class, you've ensured that we will always have a reliable source at our disposable to not only use for One Acts, but for a multitude of performances in the future.

So thank you for giving us a sense of security in that we will always be able to have the proper access to resources that we need to make our shows both believable and successful both now, and for many years to come.”

The iPad you donated has allowed us to conduct both performances and rehearsals smoother than we ever could have before.

Most recently, we've been able to use your donation in order to assist us in our One Acts competition. In our show, the setting is a subway station and we were able to use the iPad in order to make our performance more believable. We were able to play background music for the station and play train noises in order to represent the subway and this added a sense of depth and believability to our performance. Although we might've been able to do this otherwise, we would have had to rely on students and there is no guarantee that we would've been able to accomplish this successfully. However, by donating to our class, you've ensured that we will always have a reliable source at our disposable to not only use for One Acts, but for a multitude of performances in the future.

So thank you Chevron Corporation, for giving us a sense of security in that we will always be able to have the proper access to resources that we need to make our shows both believable and successful both now, and for many years to come.”

My students do not have technology in the classroom. It makes it very difficult for them to choose scenes and plays they wish to perform. A task that could take less than an hour, takes us almost a whole week for 80 students. The iPad will be a tool they use to search monologues they are interested in and perform. Musical theater is a passion of mine. I want to share that passion with my students. The iPad will give them access to different musicals. They will be able to go back in time and learn from famous performers and actors.
