I am requesting various genres of classic children's picture books to continue their love of reading! Access to books is very important for early childhood learners. Exposure to literature improves vocabulary, increases their language and listening skills; while sharpening their critical thinking and comprehension skills. These new classic literacy books will be an added or new edition to their home libraries and delivered in bright yellow shopping bags. It is evident that my students enjoy reading books by the conversations they share with me about printed and digital books during our one-on-one learning sessions. Classic literacy books are classics because the stories are stimulating and children want to re-read them over and over again; as well as share the stories with others.
