The listening center will help my low preforming students enhance their letter recognition and fluency in high occurring words. As well as enhance their love of reading. Sadly the area where our school is located, books are not as readily available as these students need. A reading center will help expose many of my students to books they may never have the opportunity to read. The products I have chosen will not only help the students within the classroom but also outside of it. We have a small playground area where six kindergarten class are expected to share their recess time. We have huge open fields and a basketball court where the children can play also but the lack of equipment makes it tough. I strongly believe that every child (especially kindergarten) needs a unstructured break throughout the day. The jump ropes and basketballs will help me give my students that time in a safe area for them to enjoy.
