Equity doesn't mean every student gets the same thing. Equity means each student gets exactly what he/she needs. In a classroom full of kindergarteners, this can prove almost impossible. The materials I am requesting will help me effectively teach the students what they need and how they need it. STEM activities provide many ways to differentiate within independent work. Students can work together and individually to solve problems and be successful. I am asking for 5 balancing scales for both collaborative and individual exploration. I am also asking for 6 headphones to use on my existing chrome books to implement blended learning. Another way I differentiate in my classroom is through word work. The pocket charts and timers will aide in this area.
