  • Phonics With Phones

    Funded Jan 22, 2020

Thank you so much for your kindness! My students are really enjoying using their heat myself fluency building phones. They are very eager to sit down and hear how they sound when they read. Such a simple tool but it makes learning so much more fun!!!

The students cannot believe that people who have not interacted with them took the time to buy them something! Your amazing gesture will not be forgotten and every time we use our phones or our reading improves we will be thankful. I hope that you get many wonderful blessings in return!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Torres

    Funded Jul 8, 2019

Thank you so much for your kindness! Words will not express how much this action meant to us. We are very grateful for the sharpie markers, they have brought so much color to our lives.

  • Chrome Wasn’t Built in a Day!

    Funded May 18, 2019

Thank you so much for your kindness! The chromebook you gave us has helped us have more meaningful lessons. The students are more engaged and love when they have the opportunity to use a touchscreen. We use the chromebook for group work as well as independent assignments. Technology is extremely important, especially for low income students who may not have this opportunity at home. My students smile every time it's their turn to use the laptop. We thank you so much for thinking about us and helping us achieve our goal of using more technology to learn”

  • Green Writing

    Funded Nov 22, 2018

Thank you so much for your kindness! The write on/wipe off sliders have really helped my students. They love the fact that they are helping the environment by using less paper. Instead of making more copies we inserted them in the slider and reused then with the next students. Sometimes I had to tell students not to write on their paper, which made it difficult to track our answers.

Recently, we worked on a fact and opinion lesson and were able to write on the pages without being wasteful! The students were able to write freely and correct any mistakes without feeling pressure.

The students were very motivated to use the sliders because they are very colorful and kid friendly. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness we will not forget it!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Torres

My students are amazing and great individuals with very unique styles. We are in the Bronx and are severely overcrowded. In order to close the academic gap we have departmentalized, which means my students travel from room to room for different subjects. A seat sack will help them organize the material that goes out with them minimizing the time spent looking for materials. They are often commenting on the fact that they do not have space for their things or simply cannot find it because it's somewhere in their overcrowded desk. The seat sacks will alleviate the feeling of disorganization that can overwhelm students and interfere with their school experience.
