  • Keeping Fit!

    Funded Feb 6, 2020

    Now more than ever I appreciate all the donations for our staying fit project. Thanks to you, 40 of my running club members were given ear muffs and gloves to help them be able to stay fit ad outside even when it is cold. We were also able to get them water bottles to stay hydrated!

    My kids got SO excited when they received their gear. I didn't tell them it was fully funded because I wanted to see their reaction when they received the gifts. It was truly priceless!

    As we all are my kids are home right now so we cannot meet together to run. However I am excited to say that today we are doing our first at home virtual meeting and I told all the kids to bring their water bottles with them! I know many of them continue to use the gloves and ear muffs when running outside at their own at home, and we are so grateful and appreciative that we were able to receive them thanks to you.

  • Staying Fit with Friends!

    Clubs are a new addition to our school. We are trying to create well rounded, model citizens by opening up our kids eyes to different opportunities outside the classroom. Although our principal is supportive in starting all of these clubs, and is fully there to help with whatever we need, the funds to buy materials for every single club is just not there.

    With the gloves and headbands provided through your generous donations, my running club is able to continue to run outdoors in the cold months. We are lucky enough that running is free to enjoy but we needed the proper attire to get outside! It's cold in New York these days!

    My kids were so so so excited to receive their new gloves and headbands. We actually decorated our gloves so that they are each unique in their own ways. We are hoping with the provided materials that we can keep building on our running skills with the hopes of eventually participating in a 5K. Thank you so much!”

Last year I started a running club at my school. This year it nearly tripled in size! With minimal indoor gym space and a ton of kids in our school, we have the option of the hallway or outside. Of course, we want outside!!! New York winter is right around the corner and the best way to stay warm is to keep our heads and hands out of the cold. With gloves and headbands, we can continue to go outside as it starts to get chilly. With the help of these donations, my kids may even be able to attend races and get to truly experience those runner endorphins!
