Our school is just over a decade old. Our free and reduced lunch rate is 78%, which means most of our students live in high poverty areas. Our teachers like to think of our school as a big family and this idea is instilled in our students. We go over and beyond to make sure that all of our student's basic needs are met as well as their academic needs. My class is quite diverse. I have a nice mix of African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, and Caucasians. The girl to boy ratio is 10 girls to 12 boys. Their academic levels are diverse also. I have 2 students who attend special education classes and 6 students who are below grade level. We switch classes so I get the pleasure of teaching 50 kiddos every day. Our students and teachers are very proud. Ask any student to describe our school and they will say,"We are the #1 school!"
