Last year we were given 10 iPads to use in our classroom. These iPads are meant to be used with LEXIA, Imagine Learning (for English Language Learners), and other apps that can enhance their learning experience. The app LEXIA can help students receive extra practice in areas that they are struggling in. We use it as an intervention for struggling students. It can also challenge students that need to be challenged. The problem that I had last year was with the headphones. The cords would constantly get tangled and hang onto the floor. This year I tried having students bring earbuds instead. But, I have found that it is even worse than the headphones. Some of the earbuds do not fit in the students’ ears and keep falling out, and some students did not bring in earbuds at all. Even though each set of earbuds has its own bag, the wires get tangled worse than the headphones did. The students end up wasting too much time trying to untangle them. This is taking away from the time that they have to use the iPads during centers. Wireless Bluetooth headphones will get rid of the issues with the wires. Unfortunately, I was only able to request 5 headphones through Amazon. I really need 10, one for each iPad. There were no other vendors and there is a limit of 5. I looked at several different ones and this one seemed the best one for the price. I will probably set up another one of these to get the next 5 headphones once I receive these. Thank you so much for your help. I know the children will love them.
