Creating Health Playlists
Funded Jul 15, 2021Firstly I want to thank you for aiding in my school project of helping purchase a classroom set of headphones. As little as it seems, headphones make a world of distance for my students. Many come from low income homes and cannot afford headphones like some other classmates. Having this type of technology has helped my students learn at their own pace with their learning playlists. My students can listen in on their lessons with the help of the headphones. They can go back and rewind the lesson or pause when they need to write anything down. Super helpful during these times.
This new product in my classroom has helped my students so much. When it's time to do our individualized work they're excited to pick up a pair of headphones and getting logged in. Gives the students a sense of ownership of what they can control. Many often ask when they can grab a pair and get started right away.
My students love using the headphones most when Journaling. This year we have spent a great deal on decompressing from the week or getting ourselves prepped for the week. One form of journaling we've focused on is "vibe" journaling. Students pick a song that matches what they're feeling, whether they're in a great mood or mellow mood, and jam out to that song using their headphones. As they listen they write what's going on and why they're feeling the way they are. This is many of my students favorite way to journal. Gives then a sense of control of what they're feeling.
Couldn't have asked for a better project for my students to utilize in school. It's great watching them gain inspiration to journal and learn at their pace.”

Funded Jun 3, 2019Words would never be able to express how thankful I am for your generous contributions to this project. Many of my students come from low income households and rarely have the option to utilize equipment that I had chosen to list on my project. This year will be the best ever with the incorporation of so many new things.
As a health and physical education teacher in the building, we do not really get to use technology too often because many of our classroom teachers are using that type of equipment. A lot of our desktops are outdated as well and often times aren't performing at optimum levels. The chromebooks we have chosen for our classes will provide my students the opportunity to create and accomplish some pretty amazing projects. For example, in my 8th grade class we begin with our wellness unit and focus on mental health. Our district had some traumatic circumstances happen with students taking their own lives not knowing if there was going to be a way out from their mindsets that we now are placing emphasis on this topic. We will be doing research flyers as groups and these chromebooks will help my students learn and create proper flyers that we can actually hang up around the school. This will help tremendously in our school.
In my physical education classes we encourage a lot of different fitness activities, but sometimes have a hard time getting our students to truly participate. Our new bucket drumming sets will be a great incorporation to get our students up and dancing to music, but using their arms and shoulders more to get a proper full body workout. This has already been incorporated into our fitness rotation stations. With our stations also, we've utilized the medicine ball set too! This has been a great new way to help the girls with their sit-ups and different style of push-ups. Not too mention, some slam ball!”

Funded Jul 29, 2019Thank you all so so much! This equipment will help so many young ladies as student athletes for years to come! The importance of such equipment will benefit their skills and enhance our game play to fully compete at the levels we are capable of! This is a special group of young ladies and I know they will be overjoyed by all of your generosity. Thank you again all so much.”
