CY Middle School has a new course this school year focusing on financial literacy. Students are “learning by doing”. They earn money for their work in the class, and currently can spend their money on small items provided by the teacher (candy, treats). In the spirit of saving to spend for bigger purchases I am seeking merchandise to make available for students to "purchase" within the classroom using class economy money. Donations from the shopping list provided (i.e. ear buds, drawing sketch pads) will be made available so students can "purchase" them with the money they have earned in class. Students must use self-restraint and delayed gratification to SAVE and reach a spending goal for these top items.
