Our classroom was gifted a few years ago with a Promethean board. To put it simply, a Promethean Board is a specific brand of interactive whiteboard that allows you to project an image from a laptop or a computer, as well as interact with the board through touch or specialized pens. My students love using the board. Over the past year my current laptop that we use to create lessons has become very slow. This really slows down our learning time. Instead of the students learning using the board time is wasted waiting for a computer that crashes and freezes. Then we find another way to have our lesson. Since my classroom is such a diverse community of learners we have a lot of visual and hand on learners. The Promethean board is such a great tool for us to use. Currently we cannot use it as we would like, because of our current computer equipment.
