  • Multilingual and Diverse Books

    Funded Jun 6, 2024

Thank you so much for these multicultural books for the classroom. I support close to 200 students from different backgrounds and countries and having books that they can connect with is vital for the classroom.

The students have really enjoyed listening and then being able to read some of the books on their own. The students get excited that they are able to make connections with the characters in the books.

Thank you again for your generous donation to the classroom. Words can describe how thankful we are.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. W.

  • Supporting Communication

    Funded Sep 6, 2024

Thank you so much for your donation! These PockeTalks are a life saver for our students! We are getting so many new students to the country, that these really help those students communicate with their teacher and peers the first couple months. It allows them to feel connected and heard at school.

These devices are also used to help communicate with families if we have a parent meeting, or a parent needs support in the office. I can't thank you enough for donating these materials.

    Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. W.

  • Personal Space

    Funded Aug 18, 2024

Thank you so much for donating to this project! We have been wanting a classroom rug for awhile, and it has really opened up our space! It also bring color into the room, which makes it feel more welcoming. The rug is amazing for so many reasons.

We use the rug space as a learning space, it gives students their own personal space when we need to be a little more structured. It also gives kids an area to relax on while they are working with a partner, or reading a book.

Thank you again for your generous donation, words can't describe how excited we were to get this rug!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. W.

  • Supporting Newcomer Students to Our Country

    Funded Aug 8, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation. The students have loved collaboarting with each other when building these Lego sets. It is amazing to see students that speak all these different langauges, collaborate during building time. Even though the kids don't speak the same language, they still are able to use visuals and steps to work through it together.

I have never seen the students so exctied and engaged when they are working together. Many of these students struggle in the general education classroom so it is great to proide time for them to build a community with others that they can connect with.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. W.

  • Building Community for Multilingual Learners

    Funded Mar 25, 2023

I can't thank you enough for these materials, the kids are eating them up! Working together and building relationships when they don't speak the same language. Kids are using Google translate to talk with each other and engage in conversation around a topic that they are interested in.

As I sit here watching and listening to the kids participate and build Lego's together, they are speaking their native language with one another, even though they don't speak the same language, but are being kind, respectful and helpful to one another. It warms my heart to be able to provide these students a safe area, where they can build relationships with other students that are in their same situation, but from different places.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. W.

  • Engaging Multilingual Students

    Funded Nov 28, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation! I have already been able to purchase many visual supports and great lessons for my multilingual students. It has really benefited my newcomer students as we don't have a lot of materials to support them, but we have a huge influx of students. It is great to be able to have easy access to materials that meet the needs of my students.

The students have been engaged in the materials, along with google slide content that they are able to practice and work on at home.

Thank you again for your donation, my students are very appreciative and thankful for the donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. W.

  • Essential Materials

    Funded Nov 13, 2018

Thank you so much for the white boards, markers and dry erase markers. They get used daily with the students as they use them with almost every subject. Your generous donation has helped more than one class as they are being used every year since they have been donation.

Your generous donation has made learning engaging for students as they are able to use other materials to show their thinking.

Again, thank you so much for your generous donation and helping students engage in their education.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. W.

  • Engaging Students in Reading

    Funded Jan 23, 2018

Thank you so much for these wonderful leveled book sets. They have provided my low readers with fun, interesting books for them to engage in when reading. My students were so excited to have books at their level, as most of the books we had were to difficult for the students. I have already seen a lot of reading growth with my readers due to the excitement of the new books.

Without your donation it would have been more difficult to provide these students with such an amazing selection of books. Thank you again for your generous donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. W.

  • Lets Get Creative!

    Funded Sep 21, 2017

Thank you so much for your art donations! The materials you have provided have been put to good use this year! Because of this donation I have also taught art a lot more than I have in the past. This has allowed students to be creative in different ways. The drying rack provided has been a life saver! Instead of lying art all around the classroom to dry we are able to place it on the rack in one contained area. We use the pencil sharpener every day! This item has been the most useful in the classroom.

Thank you again for your donations! The students are grateful of your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. W.

  • Bringing STEM Into The Classroom

    Funded Jul 4, 2017

Thank you so much for the STEM materials. The students are loving them! When we got the materials they were so excited to have new things to explore in the classroom. Students are using their imagination to build new things and looking at shapes differently. They are also doing a great job of working together to engineer towers with the materials.

Students are using the materials during math and choice time. We haven't gotten to the light up Lego's yet, however we will start working with those towards the middle of the year once students have practiced working together.

Thank you for supporting the classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. W.

My students are a diverse group of caring, hardworking kids. I have Latino's, African Americans, Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese students that are all at school to work hard no matter what is happening at home. Most of my students go home, watch T.V. and don't ever go outside and visit new places that are just around the corner. My students come from a low-income area, most kids are on free lunches. Although some come from a tough home life they come to school everyday eager to learn and do something new and creative. My students love being able to draw with the materials that we have (which consists little of colored pencils, crayons and markers). If my students where able to touch paint, explore with it and then start making art work with the paint I know that they would be ecstatic!
