  • Ice Cream & Slushie Makers for 5th Grade Scientists!

    Funded Aug 7, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! We are so excited to be able to have these ice cream makers, slushie makers, and vegetable slicer to explore and experiment with chemical and physical changes.

For our ice cream mixer, we are going to be able to experiment with creating ice cream and exploring how the mixture changes from a liquid to a solid, as well as the chemical change that is happening with creating a new solid from the ingredients. For the slushie makers, we are going to be able to explore how a liquid changes to a solid/liquid combination, and explore why some liquid remains and some changes to a solid. For the vegetable slicer, we will be able to explore how foods go through a physical change when being sliced, however, no chemical change is happening.

My students are so excited to be able to experiment with these items next month! We are even going to have the opportunity to share our experiments with the other 5th grade classes in our school, so these resources will have the ability to impact 113 students this year, instead of only 27 students! Thank you again for your generous donation to our classroom. We are extremely blessed, and it's all because of you!”

  • Computer Monitor That We Can See

    Funded Dec 17, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! We are so grateful to have a computer monitor that we can actually see! Many of my students were unable to see the technology that we were using, because our screen was so small. Now, with a larger monitor, no matter where students are located in the classroom, they are able to easily see what is being discussed digitally, what they are expected to do, and where to find the information. My students are finally able to easily see what they need to do to be successful with their assignments because of this new computer monitor. This new computer monitor has also greatly helped students who's eyesight is poor, as they are able to finally see the screen. This computer monitor has made such a huge impact on my students, and we are so grateful for your generous donation to our classroom!”

  • Megaphone for Outdoor Learning

    Funded Aug 2, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom! My students and I are so grateful, and we were so excited as soon as it arrived! We have used it on a weekly basis since its arrival, and it's been a lifesaver! The students are able to practice content that we have learned in class and show what they have learned outside through movement that works not be possible inside the classroom setting.

My students have enjoyed being outside in the fresh air, and this megaphone has made a huge impact when it comes to their ability to hear instructions and expectations while we are outside. We feel so honored at your generosity, and we just cannot thank you enough!!”

  • Comic Books for Students, Unleashed!

    Funded Feb 4, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students absolutely love our new books! They love comic books, and you have definitely given them a wide variety of comic books that meets the interest of any student. There are multiple copies of the same book, which has been very helpful when students want to read the same one and discuss it with their peers! They have already loved many of the stories, and they are thrilled to discuss their favorite ones with me and tell me all about the characters, the stories, and the illustrations. It has also been a huge help with a few of the books written in Spanish, to help my students who have learned English as a second language feel included.”

  • 20th Century Socialization for Students!

    Funded Jan 19, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! My students have already loved playing the games and participating in the activities on a daily basis. They were absolutely thrilled to receive so many items to enrich their learning in 5th grade, and have had a chance to explore in many new ways.

My more reserved and shy students are loving the Qball and the speaker! With this, we are able to toss it around the room, and students are able to share their thoughts, opinions, ideas, etc. with the class. It has made a huge difference in our classroom!

The games that were donated to our classroom have already been put to good use! With Utah weather, we have had some very chilly days and have had to have inside recess. This used to be a terrible experience, but with our new games, the students are thrilled to play inside during recess! Thank you so much! My students are so excited for these new additions to our classroom and they are already well-loved!”

  • Cultivating a Love for Technology for Fabulous 6th Graders!

    Funded Oct 17, 2018

The impact you have made on my students is astronomical. Technology is helping my students further their learning in many different ways. By having the opportunity to use an iPad in our classroom, my students now have the ability to read a plethora of online books to choose from during our silent reading time, as well as have the book read to them for my struggling readers. They have enjoyed this aspect of learning, and I have been able to discuss with them what they are most excited about in regards to the novels they are reading online, as well as ask them comprehension questions for my own assessments.

Additionally, the most exciting thing about the addition of the iPad to our classroom, is the ability my students have had to use social media. My students were so excited, that we now have a classroom job titled "Social Media Manager." This student's job is to take photos of the projects, assignments, activities, experiments, etc. that we are accomplishing in our classroom, and share these experiences with parents and other staff members at our school. The students are thrilled for the opportunity to share these with parents!

Furthermore, my students instantly embraced the iPad in our classroom in different ways. It has been eye-opening to see how each one of my students' personality has come through by receiving the opportunity to experience hands-on learning and expression. Some of my students favorite things to do with the iPad is reading from the online library, others enjoy documenting our classroom events on social media, some students enjoy using the iPad as a projected whiteboard while learning math concepts, etc. With the addition of the iPad to our classroom, there is something available for each one of my students; something that they can connect with, and something that interests them. I am so blessed to share this joy and excitement with them because of your generous donation, and for that, I am eternally grateful.”

    With gratitude,

I embrace new ways of teaching and encourage my students to learn the way that best suits them; auditory, kinesthetic, or visual. Just as important as it is for me to keep up with new ways of teaching, my students need to keep up with 21st century ways of learning in order to become the best they can be, and contributing members of society one day. By giving my students access to an iPad, I can facilitate learning from any angle in my classroom. I can bring technology directly to my students without skipping a beat! My students can take turns exploring learning apps and games to enhance and enrich their learning, in order to differentiate for all levels and styles of learning! We can use programs such as Pear Deck, Kahoot!, Plickers, Doceri, and more!
