We need to better allocate resources to harness the hidden power of movement, activities, and sports. Studies suggest that regular activity supports healthy child development by improving memory, concentration, and disposition. With our specific population of students with dyslexia, they learn best through hands-on experience, demonstrations, experimentation, observation, and visual aids. With so many apps now developed for fitness and exercise (SwortKids, Zombie, Run, Dungeon Run, etc) an Ipad is a great piece of equipment to have in the gym. It helps gamify exercise, making it more intriguing to my student population. Hopefully making them want to become a lifelong mover.
