Especially after spending the last few months working at home, I am anticipating my students will be used to writing in a less traditional atmosphere than the classroom, and I want to bring some of that comfort into the room. Just like no two students learn alike, there are many different ways students prefer to sit while they are learning. Flexible seating is not just a trend in education - it is a way to meet the needs of students who have difficulty staying in the same place all day. Bean bags also provide a safe spot for kids to land when they are having a bad day, and are great for students with sensory issues who sometimes just need to escape the noise and bustle of the classroom for a short time, to come back calm and ready to learn.
