S.E.L State of Mind
Funded May 19, 2023Let me start by saying thank you for donating these materials for my classroom. I appreciate you so much. Some of the skills that are introduced in these texts are how to deal with different feelings. The little ninja life hacks dealing with other emotions and feelings and coping with everyday life wherever you go.
What does reading look like in your classroom?
Reading looks very different in my classroom. I will either read to a student, they will read themselves, or we will read it together. The books I read from this new set of texts I received are used with each lesson I teach. I typically find a book that relates to my study; I connect that lesson to a lifelong skill. They enjoy the books that I read because the students can relate to how it makes them feel.
Are there particular students who are especially enjoying the new books, and how so?\
Several students are especially enjoying the book because they can relate and find ways to deal with their emotions in a better, more positive way.”
With gratitude,

Funded Oct 7, 2022Thank you so much for choosing to fund my project. Nowadays, almost every student has access to technology. Whether it is at home, at school, or anywhere there is internet access, students are using technology. Using the Samsung tablet in my classroom has been a blessing to my students. They can write on the tablet as it is projected on the screen. The students can research ideas and take notes on the tablet. The students can engage with each other and interact with the tablet at the same time. The use of the tablet in the classroom has allowed the students to move around and utilize their time.
The students were vreceiveI told them we would be rduringinduringactive tablet to use while we did our SEL lessons. They were excited to use technology while the lesson was being taught versus just watching and then interacting. The students were also excited to take notes while brainstorming ideas in the same place and being able to have them saved to their drive.
All of the students have been eager and excited to use this new technology in the classroom. Every student that has used this tablet have loved working with it and was able to understand how to use and utilize it with ease. Again thank you so much for allowing my students the opportunity to use new technology interactively with their lesson.”
