VITAL Getting Crazy With Vinyl Enterprise!

Funded Oct 31, 2018

We want to thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts for fully funding our project. Our young adults are utilizing the Silhouette machine and vinyl to create 4 foot wooden signs to sell for their enterprise. They are also assisting with creating t-shirts with the use of heat transfer vinyl, Silhouette machine, and the heat press. A few examples of the wooden signs are attached in the 6 pictures. The young adults found ideas on Pinterest and searched for specific fonts to download. Other than sizing up the fonts and placing them on the wood, they did this almost on their own.

When our students assisted on unpacking the Silhouette machine and heat press, they got excited because it was something new and different. A few of them were very eager to learn the Silhouette program. This is still a learning process, but very thankful my teaching partner has one at home and knows what to do. The students know that they can go to her if they have more in depth questions. Some of our young adults like to practice by creating projects on the Silhouette program. They're pretty proud of themselves when they figure it out on their own. Some time this school year, we will let them create their own shirt.

Our next step for our project is to build on to our vinyl enterprise. The young adults would like to create decals for cups, windows and anything that needs to be labeled. They would like to make school shirts if we can get extra funding for t-shirts and heat transfer vinyl. This might be a project were looking at doing for the 2019-2020 school year.

The VITAL program here at Cy Fair High School in Cypress Fairbanks ISD appreciates your kindness towards our young adults and their desire to create and sell products made personally by them.

You have touched 13 students, 4 staff members and have made many other staff members happy with their products that wouldn't have been made without your donation.

Thank you so much!
