Moving to a 2/3 classroom after teaching kindergarten for 10 years has left my students scrambling for more reading materials. They love to read and many borrow my books to take home. Some read a book a day! Although I add to our classroom library weekly, I would love to provide them with more choices. Our read alouds have them excited about the authors and series. Because we are 2 grade levels, there are times when the students must work independently while I teach the other group. It is hard for most to tune me out and pay attention to their task at hand. They are an eager group and love to participate in all lessons.I would love to give them the opportunity to silence the room so that they can truly focus.
