"Through these doors walk the best children in the world." This motto hangs over the door of my school, and never have truer words been written. My school is a public school that houses the SAIL program for the city. SAIL meaning "School for Autistically Impaired Learners." Having the children who have various Autism Spectrum disorders in our building has truly made us special. The diversity in my school has been wonderful for all teachers and students involved. My classroom consists of 23 children, 4 of which are SAIL students. The inclusion setting for these children warrants great success for them both academically and socially. Working with their peers is so beneficial. The acceptance of these children by all children is what really makes our building shine. Watching them work with their peers is fantastic. As I go throughout my day I am eagerly looking for opportunities for the students to work in small groups, peer guided and controlled. This benefits all students.
