The impact your donations have made in my classroom has been tremendous. My students look forward to the day they can change their books now that they know there is a great selection to choose from. They do not feel as if there is no room for them to grow as readers and they feel confident in working towards their reading goals. When I am teaching reading I rely heavily on an abundant supply of books for my students to read and practice the skill on their own independent reading levels. No matter the level they are on it is so important they have the opportunity to practice the new reading skills. Thank you!”

This classroom project was brought to life by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and 11 other donors.

I am seeking to replenish my library with a wide range of leveled fiction books. Students are expected to raise their reading levels throughout the year by reading both in the classroom and at home. For many of my students, however, the only exposure they have to books is when they are in classroom. A low point for my students is the day they have to change their books and they’ve realized they have read all the books in our library and when they cannot take books home for the night because there are simply not enough left. Often times my classroom library is either lacking their needed independent reading levels or their is not enough books to go home for the night. These much needed books will not only help my students become better and stronger readers, it will also continue to bring excitement and joy in their everyday lives as they engross themselves in new books.
