Less Screens and More Reading!
Funded Jan 23, 2025Thank you so much for funding my project. The students are so exited to receive their Yoto audio materials! This helps make reading more accessible to my students without using a screen which can be distracting for some students. We'll also use one in our calm corner to help students reset when having big feelings.”

Helping Our Garden Grow
Funded Apr 5, 2023Thank you so much for donating to our class project! My students got to work with other classes across the school to plan our garden space, how much soil we would need, what type of soil is best for sunflowers, and build the planter beds!
My students grew their sunflower seeds with the germination kit and planted the sprouts in the garden beds once the weather got warmer. We were able to visit over the summer to water the flowers, add soil, and harvest the seeds to eat!
My class really enjoyed immersing themselves in studying sunflowers and getting to see their life cycle happen, taste the seeds they grew, and pick the flowers they grew. What a great experience. Thank you again!”

Hands-On Environmental Science Project
Funded Feb 21, 2023Thank you very much for your generous donations! My students got to immerse themselves in planning, prepping, and planting a sunflower garden with other grade levels across the school. They learned all about sunflowers, compost, how to make the best type of soil for sunflowers, and about sunflowers' life cycles.
On the last day of school, our first sunflower bloomed! Students visited the garden throughout the summer to water it and harvest seeds to eat when they were ready.
This garden will bring my new class fun and joy this year as we begin prepping the garden in the next few months. Thanks again!”

Math and Science Fun!
Funded Sep 21, 2021Thank you so much for donating for resources for my class to learn and have fun with math. The students have really enjoyed the can games of science and the bingo math games. They have played them so many times that they are now independent and can facilitate the games on their own. The reference the games when we are talking about the same topics during math and science time. The games also allow for cooperative learning and playtime that's fun but they are still learning. As a result it has helped improve our classroom community as a respectful learning environment because while playing games students have to take turns read the directions and help each other.”

Historical Fiction Books!
Funded Jan 22, 2022Thank you so much for donating to our historical fiction book project! Your generosity helped my class learn about all kind of historical timelines such as the revolutionary war, civil war, Holocaust, Indian Removal Act, and more. These resources helped inspire and facilitate meaningful conversations around equity, authors purpose, and common themes. My class had respectful and important conversations around several topics such as war and peace that were inspiring. Thank you again so much for helping my class to utilize resources that otherwise, wouldn't have been available.”

Flexible Seating and Sensory Tools
Funded Sep 18, 2021Thank you so much for donating to my classroom for their sensory tools. The wobble cushions are a big favorite of every student, using them at their seat and on the carpet throughout the day. They also serve as a great management tool to place students 3-6 feet apart during group or partner work. My students have also discovered alternative uses for the cushions like setting their feet on them while doing work so their legs don't get restless.
The students were SO excited to unbox and get the color of their choice when they arrived. The students also enjoyed independently inflating them and continuing to care for them since they know it is theirs for the year.
My students will continue to enjoy the cushions and other sensory tools throughout the year. Thank you so much for your support!”

Help My Students Love Technology!
Funded Apr 13, 2015Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. My students were so excited to receive the computers! They said they were excited to use computers that would turn on quickly and that were just for us!
My students are using these resources daily to help support their math and literacy growth. During math centers, a group of students will practice addition, subtraction, and number sense. During literacy centers, students use computers to practice letter name and sound recognition as well as their reading skills.
The students in my class are more motivation to use the computers because, now, they don't bring as much frustration as our previous computers did. Because these computers turn on quickly and are used only by our classroom, the students have more time to play math and literacy games instead of waiting for the computer to boot up.
Thank you again for your donation to education and in particular, our classroom. We all truly appreciate it!”

Listening Center Headphones
Funded Dec 19, 2014Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom project! My students and I opened up the boxes today and they were so excited to see enough headphones for a whole reading group! They love to adjust the volume just for them and it has helped them to stay focused and engaged on the books.
They take such great care of the headphones because they know they were given to us by special, generous people. My students use the headphones every day. It's impacted my teaching because it is easier to manage a group at the listening station because they are more captivated! I have also noticed the students are comprehending the books more because they are able to stay focused on the story. We truly appreciate your gift to our classroom!”

Classroom Management Carpet
Funded Jun 6, 2014My students were so very excited when this enormous carpet was delivered to our classroom. We opened it up together and rolled it out across the floor. They immediately started talking about what letter they wanted to sit on, usually the first letter of their name, and we quickly assigned new seats. This carpet helps the students to easily remember where they sit and helps with quick transitions from carpet to desk to carpet again.
We are using the carpet several times every day. The students walk on the letters to say the alphabet, the drive cars during choice centers around the letters to trace them, and they sit on the carpet during math and literacy centers.
This carpet has helped my teaching by giving me more time to teach! With the help of the carpet, we get to the carpet faster which gives me more time to teach and the students more time to learn!
Thank you so much!”

Funded Jan 1, 2014Thank you, again, so much for helping make this project a reality for my students. When the boxes arrived the students were so excited. We guessed what could be inside and then I opened the boxes. The cheered so loudly the room next to us heard. When I told the students who sent them and how their education is important to many people they wanted to know more about why people they didn't know would help them. It was a great teaching moment of compassion.
My students are using these resources daily in Choice Centers. In choice centers, we incorporate writing, reading, and lots problem solving. These centers are the most popular during this time because of all the possibilities to use them. The students have even created a dramatic center with an audience.
These resources boosted my teaching by encouraging me to facilitate problem solving and ideas on how to use the centers. They have been a great tool for incorporating new vocabulary into our centers which is helping to grow our interactive word wall.”
