Most people believe that the prekindergarten curriculum is filled with children playing all day and not learning anything. Those claims are false. Children learn through play. Small children learn to develop their social-emotional skills through the use of playing in a social environment. They learn to make friends. Figure out conflicts peacefully. Wait patiently. Follow directions. Enjoy the company of their peers. All of these qualities, and more are developed in small steps over time. Your generous donations will help my students have a rich learning environment that will aid in developing their social-emotional skills through play. The children will grocery shop using their A to Z grocery set as they review the alphabets. Next, they will cook their groceries on their toddler stove and wash dishes in the sink. They can also explore the various facets of science with the magnetic rings and magnets STEM set. They can also explore the imaginative world through a book as they listen to a read-aloud using the read-aloud listening set. By incorporating these new materials into the classroom, my students will be able to find more fun in play and begin to develop their social emotional skills. Playing among peers is a vital element in a young child's development. I kindly ask that you be a part of their initial journey. Thank you in advance!
