I cannot even begin how to articulate how much this means to me. I often find myself wondering how can I make a difference in the lives of these children. However, the best way to make an impact is as a collective unit. You guys were all an intricate part in making this happen. My heart is filled with great joy and appreciation.”

Considering the fact that we live in a city with huge disparities when it comes to socioeconomic status, certain schools such as ours do not have the basic necessities to thrive or something to truly be excited about. Creating a reading oasis that every class should have, is just a start to help our children become even more excited about reading...to have a place to call their own. As a public school teacher, I’m aware that funds are allocated as best as they can by our principals. Unfortunately, certain areas get the short end of the stick. It’s sad that some neighborhoods would not have to make this plea, but I have no shame in doing so. With your donations, we would be getting a carpet area, with bean bags and pillows, where a child can be comfortable when reading. We will also put good use to the extra bookshelves you will help us get as well!
