  • Let's Roll Out!!

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting our project, "Let's Roll Out!!" Your generosity has brought an incredible array of hands-on resources into our classroom, sparking joy, curiosity, and collaboration among my students.

As soon as the new materials were introduced, their faces lit up with excitement. They eagerly gathered around to explore the blocks, roads, and miniature buildings, setting up their own little city on the classroom rug. It was heartwarming to see them work together, planning and building different structures and roads. The activity not only allowed them to use their creativity but also encouraged teamwork as they shared ideas and solved problems together. Watching them navigate through challenges, negotiate space, and role-play different community roles was a wonderful sight.

Thanks to your donation, my students are developing important social and spatial skills in a fun, engaging way. In the coming weeks, we plan to incorporate these materials into our learning themes, helping the students deepen their understanding of community helpers and transportation. These materials will continue to play an essential role in their hands-on learning journey.

Thank you again for making such an impact on our classroom. We are deeply grateful for your kindness and support.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Chai

  • As Easel as 1 2 3!!!

    Funded Aug 23, 2023

It is with great gratitude and appreciation that I submit this impact letter to you for your kindness and willingness to give, toward "As Easel as 123!" With the awesome easel and media storage center, our students are engaged in learning on a daily basis.

Thank you so much for contributing to our classroom. Our easel has been used for guided drawing lessons as well as practicing writing our letters and sight words. Because the whiteboard in our classroom is not magnetic, we have also used our easel to post examples of writing, art, and other projects we do throughout the day. Our easel also holds important materials such as our alphabet cards and clipboards.

Our media storage center has been used to store our ELMO, projector and my laptop. It is a joy to see the students' face light up whenever we pull out the cart to enjoy videos and songs to supplement our learning in the classroom.

With your help, our classroom space is much more functional and accessible to my amazing students! We cannot thank you enough. Thank you for your kind and generous donations! We are very appreciative!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Chai

  • We Need Technology In Our Classroom!

    Funded Oct 23, 2014

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom! The ipads that you donated have greatly enhanced our literacy centers, language arts, math, science, social studies instruction. The students are engaged with different aps that they can use to learn and grow in unique, innovative ways with great enthusiasm. The students love ipad exploration time! They have also proven to be a great assessment tool for me, because I can monitor students' learning progress through observation during center time and use the ipads to help me assess the students.

The ipads have already become invaluable tools for reading, practicing letter formation, number writing, sight words, addition and subtraction practices, shapes, and writing sentences.

Thank you for supporting literacy instruction in my classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Chai

  • Everything I Know I Learned in Kindergarten

    Funded Nov 18, 2012

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom! The materials and learning tools that you donated have greatly enhanced our literacy centers and language arts instruction. The students engage in their new writing boards, problem solving games, hands-on manipulatives, and story books with great enthusiasm. Everyday the students come to school saying, "Ms. C., when is center time?!" They have also proven to be a great assessment tool for me, because I can monitor students' learning progress through observation during center time and use the literacy tools to help me assess the students.

The literacy tools have already become invaluable tools for practicing letter formation, sight words, reading and writing sentences. Whenever I say, "We're going to have a new activity for our center time," there are immediate cheers.

Thank you for supporting literacy instruction in my classroom!”

  • Can You Read To Me?

    Funded Dec 15, 2010

THANK YOU SO MUCH for your generosity and kindness!!!  My children LOVE their stories on CDs and big book about colors and shapes!  Whenever they go to the reading center, they are overwhelmed with joy.  They are so eager to use the many fun, exciting reading activities!  They are a great addition to our growing classroom library.  Words cannot express how I felt when I received your gift!  The children were ecstatic as was I.

These materials will not only benefit the children that I have this year but next year and many more years after that.  In the mist of the budget crisis, you are the heroes to these children.  Without your help, my children would never have had these vital resources.  THANK YOU!  THANK YOU!  THANK YOU”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Chai

Books are an essential part of kindergarten. Reading is fundamental in building vocabulary and comprehension. My students are curious and eager 5 year old students and they LOVE reading stories. Our school is the only public school located in the downtown district. The majority of my students live in a high poverty neighborhood, living in SRO's (single room occupancy) with more than one family, transitional homes, etc. Our school is just a block away from the county jail. Despite the surrounding environment, my students come to school daily eager and ready to learn. The circumstances that these students face everyday does not affect the learning that happens in my classroom every day. The majority of my students are English Language Learners and for most of them English is their 2nd language. Reading has become their best part of their day. Therefore, in my classroom, reading is my priority which I believe will lead to their future success.
