I can’t find the words the words to describe how I am feeling at this very moment. All I can say right now is how thankful I am. In Mayen En’Lak Ech means “You are my other me/tú eres mi otro yo.” Thank you for being my other me, and thank you for making flexible seating possible for the students I get privilege of teaching each day. This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community and 13 other donors.

This will help my students by creating a comfortable and safe environment while silently reading and/or working during our class work time. Each school day we read for 20 minutes as a class. Reading is important for our classroom culture. Studies have shown students who read 20 minutes a day become exposed to 1.8 million words in one school year. Reading improves writing skills. It expands vocabulary. During silent reading, and work time students can sit wherever they like. My hope is to make silent reading an exciting time that students look forward to. This is why I am starting a donors choose for flexible seating. Research shows that flexible seating improves students attention and focus Please help me create our silent reading and work time a more relaxing and comfortable place!
