Personal Space for Everyone!
Funded Dec 19, 2023I cannot express enough how much your donation impacted my classroom this year. A rug might seem like a simple item, but it can affect classroom safety, the mood of the room, and teach important skills like maintaining personal space.
My students were thrilled when our rug arrived, and through the year it was a colorful, welcoming centerpiece of the room. We discussed how furniture costs a lot of money, so it is important to treat it responsibly (clean from play-doh and snacks, no coloring on it, etc.). We learned about maintaining personal space and why it is important for safety to keep it flat on the floor.
Having a spacious rug made all of the following possible: opportunities to work with partners and small groups; dance breaks and games involving spatial awareness; lessons in which the entire class was fully engaged (no more arguing about who sits where!); working on multiple activities in different spaces on the rug.
Thank you again, from me and all of Class K10. Your generosity went a long way!”

Bring Kindergarten Learning to Life!
Funded Feb 6, 2019To say that your generosity has had an impact on my classroom would be an understatement. Not only did you allow me to introduce new center games and activities to my students; you also provided them with a first-hand example of what it means to give.
My kindergarteners could hardly contain their excitement as I revealed some of the new "gifts" we had received. Our new bundle of phonics centers has allowed all students to participate, whether they are still learning their letter-sounds or already reading independently. My more proficient learners could even help their peers, fostering communication and teamwork. Our math centers have given all students more hands-on practice that has helped to prepare them for first grade. A favorite among my students is our set of magna-tiles. They can build flat or solid shapes, work together to create buildings, and use the tiles for imaginative play.
Not only has your generosity impacted my current class, but you have ensured that my next cohort of students will be coming into a kindergarten classroom full of opportunities for hands-on learning. For them, I will be able to spend less time creating and preparing centers, and more time planning how to use the materials to strengthen their learning. You have made a difference for me, my students, and any future students who enter my classroom. Thank you!!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Vela
