The resources that were chosen, will help students with reading skills and help them stay organized with their Chromebooks. Students did not have as many opportunities last year to have a real book in their hands. It is an important part of them being able to read by the end of the year, to read fluently, and comprehend 2nd-grade books (RF.2.4). Students can also use these books as mentor texts to help them use information gained from the illustrations and words in a print or digital text to demonstrate understanding of its characters, setting, or plot (RL.2.7). The Chromebook cart will be helpful to keep our Chromebooks charged and organized as a part of digital citizenship. Students will also be using the Chromebooks for reading programs to help with phonics decoding skills (RF.2.3). With teacher guidance, we will utilize digital and non-digital planning tools (2.EL.A.1). With the better organization of our Chromebooks, we will be able to make responsible decisions, of knowledge of digital safety and security best practices (2.DC.C.1).
