Berps are a fantastic tool for any new brass player. Berps allow students to practice with a mouthpiece off the horn while still training their fingers to move in the correct pattern. Our Title I school is not able yet to provide this learning tool, and this project will help provide our students with a small tool that is often out of reach for the budgets of our musical families. Students who utilize a Berp learn to play notes in tune and with good tone and air support, because the Berp is designed to allow students to adjust the resistance of air inside the Berp as they improve as a musician. The Berp allows students to learn how to correctly adjust their embouchure and air pressure to play low and high notes.
