  • Getting Organized

    Funded Dec 28, 2023

Thank you so much for donating to my project and supporting my classroom!

These bins helped me organize centers for ELA and Math.

Working in a bridge class can be challenging at times. Students are on different levels and require different skills to be successful. Creating centers, allows me to meet my students where they are academically.

Often students will work with me while I teach them a new skill, and then they will go off into centers to work on that specific skill independently and/or with their peers, these bins made it possible for them to be more independent. Also, it created for a more organized center.

    Thank you once again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Liz

  • Literacy Matters

    Funded Dec 28, 2023

Thank you donors for your generosity...and for thinking of my classroom during this holiday season. I am excited to return to school and see the how happy all the students will be when the new books arrive.

These books will come in handy during independent and guided reading. I look forward to my students growing a love for reading with the help of donors like you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Liz

  • A Table for My Students

    Funded Aug 30, 2023

Thank you once again for your continued support of my classroom and our projects!

The new tables have helped bring my students together. They were able to begin the year sitting at tables with their peers and getting to know each other. Aside from the social interaction sitting at the same table has provided, they have been busy engaging in various academic tasks, such as math centers, literacy games, table top toys, and independent work.

These tables have offered more comfort, more space for hands on learning and allowed students to build strong friendships with their neighbor tables!

Words can not begin to express my gratitude.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Liz

  • Fidgets and Books and So Much More!

    Funded Dec 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity once again!

All the different fidget toys and sensory items helped my students to stay focused and served as an incentive to complete tasks. After completing the academic tasks, many students would choose to use a fidget toy or go to the sensory station as a reward or for their positive reinforcement.

If they didn't choose a fidget or sensory item, they would choose to read in the library area using the books you all so generously helped us get. They would gather round together on the rug and flip through the graphic novels laughing and talking about the book. This helped them to form stronger bonds then they already had.

This year was an incredible year with my students. They grew academically and socially and formed deep friendships and connections with the teachers. I believe this happened with the help and support from donors like you. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Liz

  • Flexible Seating

    Funded Nov 15, 2022

Let me start by thanking you all once again for your generous donations!

Your donations have given my students different seating. With the new seating, my students are able to find spots in the room that offer less directions and encourage more engagement.

After students are sent off for independent work, they eagerly grab a floor chair or cushion and go to their respective spots. It is there, you will find students leaning back in the new floor chairs or laying on the cushions working hard and learning!

I am grateful for your continued support of my classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Liz

  • Book Series Readers

    Funded Aug 23, 2022

    Happy New Year!

Thank you so much for your continued to support of my classroom.

My students have been busy reading various book series, such as Bad Guys, Dogman, Pedro and Tiny the Dog books.

Students have been busy breaking up into groups according to levels and interests to create book clubs. While reading our new texts, students are eagerly discussing the characters, problems and resolution in a story and how that character changes/grows from the beginning to end of a text, as well as across a series.

Thos engagement would not be possible without supporters like you. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Liz

  • Books For Research and Activism Projects

    Funded Aug 12, 2022

Thank you so much for your continued support of my classroom and students!

My students are avid readers and love reading books about all different topics. They enjoy independent leveled reading in their reading spots using flexible seating, as well as reading texts about historical figures, self love and identity and, recently, books about standing up and speaking out!

Your support has contributed to our library for standing up and speaking out helping to impress upon my students the importance of activism and believing in a cause. Students are gravitating towards these books and even writing opinion pieces about problems they see and solutions to solve those problems.

Thank you once again for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Liz

This classroom project was brought to life by Bill Gates and 4 other donors.
  • More Books, More Literacy

    Funded May 3, 2022

Did you know that reading for just 20 minutes a day can expose an individual to 1.8 million words per year?! Literacy is so vital to the success of students, it builds their vocabulary, develops problem solving and reasoning skills and exposes them to a broader range of thoughts and ideas; Reading allows students to escape reality and get lost in books. That is why it is so important to build up the libraries and give more access to books for our students. Thank you for contributing to my project and helping me build up our classroom library!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Liz

This classroom project was brought to life by SONIC Drive-In and 3 other donors.
  • The Calming Corner

    Funded Feb 15, 2022

Thank you for your donations once again!

This calming corner has become a sanctuary for students when they are feeling overwhelmed. Students retreat to the area when they need to reflect on the day and their feelings. They use sensory toys and fidget things to calm and focus their bodies.

Overall, it has helped students regulate and relax.

Further, it has worked as a reinforcement for monitoring student behavior and completing learning tasks and goals.

Once again thank you for contributing to my classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Liz

  • A Shelf for Our Materials

    Funded Dec 27, 2021

Once again thank you to all the donors who continue to support my classroom and students!

Moving into a new grade to teach poses its own challenges, such as learning the curriculum and planning instruction that meets the needs of my students. Moving into a new classroom has proven to be just as much of a challenge. More materials, grade appropriate texts, and more furniture is needed.

Adding this bookshelf to my classroom has allowed me to add more books to our class library. This bookshelf is housing books with my students' favorite characters as well as social emotional texts about self and identity.

Once again thank you for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Liz

Can children really have too many books?! I have dived deep into my pocket, and my son's library, to stock my classroom with as many books that will meet the needs, and interests, of my students. Yet, we still need more! Our writing and math centers are filled with a plethora of resources to help each student succeed and meet their goals, however, the science center and the dramatic play center lack the materials needed to further their education! Children age four and five still learn a tremendous amount through a structured dramatic play. However, our center lacks dress up clothes to role play, puzzles to challenge their mind and work their fine motor skills, and the major food groups to explore in the kitchen. Just as our dramatic play center needs a revamping, the science center lacks the hands on tools that will allow the class to experiment, observe, explore, and discover! Please help fund our classroom with more books, the necessary science materials we need, and an opportunity to learn through play!
