Bring more diversity into our classroom library for my students to build their own identity, or an opportunity to learn about someone else's experiences. In my experience, when students can relate to a character or experience in a story, it helps them feel valued and safe. I want all my students to be represented. I also want them to have a better understanding of the diverse world we live in. I am really focusing on multicultural texts in my classroom this year and the positive impact it will have on my students. These books will also help me strengthen my relationships and become a better teacher. I will have a way to connect and learn about each of my students.
