In our classroom, differentiated instruction is extremely important. My scholars have multiple learning styles and I try my best to respect every one of them by switching up lessons and making math fun! By introducing the opportunity to use technology in our classroom, my scholars can explore other ways to enjoy math besides using paper and pencil. A daily routine I love to implement in our class is Math Centers, which consists of four learning styles, one being technology. The four styles include (M)eet with Teacher, (A)t your desk, (T)ech Time, and (H)ands On. So we have a small group setting, a teamwork setting with worksheet, manipulative activities, and math through TECHNOLOGY. However, access to technology at my school is extremely limited, basically little to none. Without Chromebook availability due to constant standardized testing, sharing carts with other classes, and no school library, my scholars are usually out of luck. Most days I have to delete the Technology center and divide my scholars into 3 groups instead on 4. I know that three Chromebooks may seem like nothing at all to a class of 25 scholars, but it is a start and I will be grateful for anything. Students can share within the center of 6 students until we get enough for each of them and eventually a classroom set. We have to start somewhere, right? Thank you so much!
