These tablets will allow me to devise individual programs for students that adapt to their varied learning deficits. The goal is to change the trajectory of children that are aimed towards extreme poverty or prison. Your gift provides a better opportunity to reshape these paths.

This classroom project was brought to life by Verizon and one other donor.

Our alternative school works with the under-served and under-credited population that has not found success at traditional schools. The academic gaps are enormous. Tablets may save our students from dropping out. These tablets will allow me to differentiate instruction by using wonderful educational apps like Khan Academy to assign different math skills modules to each student. In this way, I could pinpoint and address individual points of math struggle to fill gaps. Either by using certain periods of the week to have teacher guided tech learning or by setting up stations through which 1/3 of students rotated twice during class (20 min tablet, 20 min teacher instructed, 20 min group practice) I could begin to bring my students closer to grade level and build confidence. We have almost zero resources at our school and our students are the neediest by far. Any help is greatly appreciated!
