My project will add high interest books to my classroom library. This year it will be more difficult to share my classroom library as books will have to be placed in a quarantine bin for a week before another student can check it out. By increasing the number of books I have, I can continue to lend out books to my students. Graphic novels are a great way for English learners to read independently because it provides visual clues to comprehend the stories. Graphic novels can have high level vocabulary and complex themes because the images reinforce the language. Since graphic novels are popular among all students, English Learners can read the same types of books as their peers.
