Nearpod has been a game changer and life saver for my students and I during remote learning. I currently teach 9th graders and I am working from home. I have never met any of my students in person and 90% of them have yet to step foot into their new high school. I teach in Elmhurst Queens and at one point we were the hotspot for Corona virus cases in the country. My students are struggling with a lot of issues like food insecurity, homelessness, and mental health issues. Considering all these challenges they still log on everyday to my Zoom class and join my Nearpod lesson.

This technology has truly changed the way I teach my class , because of this platform every single one of my students has a voice and can actively participate in my class. My students do not turn on their cameras, many of them are embarrassed of their living situations, they share bedrooms or they don't have their own place to work. They also do not like turning on their microphones because it's usually very busy in the background. That's where Nearpod becomes a life saver for me and the students. They can all participate in the lesson on Nearpod without turning on their cameras or unmuting their microphones. I am able to replicate my classroom teaching with Nearpod in the remote world.
